SUNDAY SCHOOL

Sunday School classes will begin on September 12!  Classes begin each Sunday at 9:45 AM with all children going directly to their classrooms.  We offer classes for 3 year olds up through the 12th grade!  Our excellent staff of teachers will all be returning this year, but we welcome anyone who would like to "shadow" the teachers, help as an aide to the teachers or fill in as substitute teachers on the few occasions someone cannot be here!  Returning teachers are Cheryl Brown, Amy Grove, Kim Harbison, Ed Heintz, Michelle & Steve Hutchison, Deb Lehew, Delphine Maurer and Barb Selfridge.  Doug Deemer remains as the Sunday School Superintendent with Kathy Kemp assisting him.  If you have any questions regarding our Sunday School program, please feel free to contact Doug, Kathy or the church office.

CHILDREN’S MESSAGE continues all year at the 8:45 and 11:00 AM services on Sunday. Cam is the main presenter. The Children’s Message portion of the service is for children 2 or 3 years of age through 5th grade. The Children’s Message is usually early in the service and bracketed at the 11 AM service by two children’s songs.

CHILDREN’S CHURCH will resume again on Sunday, September 12.  Mrs. Susan Joyce Miller will continue for a 7th year in a row to coordinate and direct the program.  The program is for children who are in Kindergarten through 3rd grade.  We ask parents not to send children who are not attending Kindergarten due to the age appropriateness of the curriculum for education and worship.  The children are released from teh sanctuary following the Children's Message, proceed to the Jacques Educational Wing and entertain their own program in the Church School area.  The program includes study, activities, worship, prayer, and some singing.

ACOLYTES: Our elementary youth (and Middle School youth) are welcome to participate in this opportunity. Every Sunday one or more youth can help by lighting the candles, extinguishing the candles, and helping with baptisms, and act as a messenger when needed. The only downside is that they must endure Cam's singing!  The Worship Committee and the Deacons work together with this program.  Please contact Deb Lehew, who is the main coordinator, if you or someone you know is interested in being an acolyte!

CHURCH NURSERY Melissa Hanby continues to coordinate the J. T. Brookhart Nursery Program of our congregation.  Nursery care is available during the 8:45 and 11 AM services on Sunday and the 7 PM service on Thursday in teh Nursery Room near the Sanctuary, between the pastor's current office and the church office.  Children through Kindergarten are welcome to come to the nursery at the start of the service or after the Children's Message.  Nursery care is also available for all church educational, fellowship and special worship services unless otherwise noted.  Some of these are automatically staffed, while others need to be reserved.  Please call Melissa Hanby if you need nursery care other than the worship service.  There is no cost for this program thanks to the J. T. Brookhart Honorary Fund!

VIBRANT VOICES

Vibrant Voices will be practicing on Wednesday's from 6 to 7 PM in the sanctuary.  Anyone in the 2nd grade through 7th grade is welcome to join.  Vibrant Voices are NHPC's Youth Choir and tehy sing several times a year at the 11 AM worship service.  Practice time is focused on learning songs, understanding the lyrics and how they apply to our lives!  This is a great time for kids to be exposed to worship and to spread God's word through song.

TEENS 4 GOD

Beginning in September, Teens 4 God practice will mve to Tuesday's from 6:30-7:30 PM and will also be in the sanctuary.  Anyone in the 8th grade and above is welcome to join!  Teens 4 God present contemporary music not only to NHPC members during church services, but also at special programs throughout the year.  This year will also find them traveling some outside the church!  Plan to see them, along with several other choirs, at the Festival of Faith on October 24th in Springdale!

If you have any questions about the Youth Choirs or would like to have them perform at any occasion, please feel free to contact Kathy Kemp.
